On the sidelines of the first successful prize giving day ceremony held by the alumni in June 2016, the principal highlighted some of the infrastructural development challenges the school was facing given its exponential growth in student numbers in recent years.
The main highlights were:
I. 3 new labs to increase capacity of handling more classes.
II. A new dormitory block with at least 250 beds to reduce congestion in dorms.
III. A new dinning hall/multi purpose hall to accommodate the growing numbers and also enhance extra curricular activities by providing a conducive space for doing the same.
IV. An ICT program to enhance knowledge delivery and skills transfer as well as provide a platform to manage the school through the use of technology.
V. A face lift and rehabilitation of existing infrastructure in the school which was in a sorry state.
He urged members to think through of how they can partner with the school to build its capacity in any of the identified areas.
The members have deliberated in various forums and agreed that whatever legacy project we chose should be fully initiated, managed and financed by the alumni for accountability reasons.
To date, the board has initiated a new dormitory block which is being built by the school, parents and the community at large including old boys in their personal capacities.
The members have decided to take the ICT component as our first legacy project which we intended to complete in a 3 year period ending latest 2020.
